Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali says the Super Eagles have accepted responsibility for the AFCON final defeat to Cote d’Ivoire.
Super Eagles were far from their best in the Sunday’s final against the Ivorians in Ebimpe.
It was Jose Peseiro’s men’s worst game of the tournament as they suffered a defeat from winning position for the first time.
Nwabali, however, apologized to the fans for letting them down.
“A disappointing and frustrating end. I deeply apologise to Nigerians . I was once a fan, still a fan and I understand how it feels giving you a disappointing night.
“We take full responsibility. Thanks for the whole support till the end. I love you all” He posted on his X account.
Nwabali is one of the revelations from the tournament.
The Chipa United’s goalkeeper kept four clean sheets during the tournament.
