Nigeria’s head coach, Jose Peseiro has been confirmed that Kelechi Iheanacho will commence full training upon his arrival in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Forward is set to conclude his rehabilitation under the supervision of Leicester City’s medical staff before linking up with the national team.
Peseiro, revealed that Iheanacho has received a green light from Leicester City’s medical team, paving the way for him to join Nigeria’s squad just in time for their opening match against Equatorial Guinea.
“Kelechi arrives on January 13th, and we are in constant communication with Leicester City’s physiotherapist and medical staff,” stated Peseiro.
“He has received approval from their medical team, and we have confidence in their expertise. He will begin training at full capacity upon his arrival.”
The coach emphasized the ongoing collaboration with Leicester City’s staff, expressing optimism in Iheanacho’s recovery.
However, it remains uncertain whether the striker will participate in Sunday’s fixture against Equatorial Guinea at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.
